SAG Flag Roof Monitor
All roof monitors are capable of measuring rock movements from a few feet into the rock to 50 feet or more. This unit gives a continuous visual indication of “how much” movement has occurred. Visual indication via a reflectorized flag and a scale on the plunger.
SAG Flag Roof Monitor W/ Adapter
This version offers the same reliable performance as the original Sag Flag, with the added benefit of built-in data logging using the SF-Adapter. Measurements are automatically recorded and accessible through a mobile app via a Bluetooth connection, giving you easy access to historical data. You can also export readings as a CSV file for streamlined reporting and analysis.
MHL
The MHL Roof Monitor tracks rock movement at custom depths using a durable fiberglass rod. A 12” reflectorized drop flag provides a highly visible alert, dropping when the preset trip point is reached. The unit is fully adjustable and resettable, offering reliable, long-term performance.
MHL w/ Adapter
This version offers the same reliable performance as the original MHL, with the added benefit of built-in data logging using the MHL-Adapter. MHR3
This roof monitor captures rock movement at multiple depths, using three rods positioned to detect delaminations at distinct horizons. Designed for deeper insight into layered rock behavior, the system logs all movement data digitally. Paired with a data logger, the readings can be retrieved via mobile app and saved or shared as CSV files for further review.

The SMI Mesh Network Data Logger is a battery-powered, low-maintenance device for wireless monitoring in mines. With long-life batteries (up to 12 months), it forms a self-healing mesh network, ensuring reliable data transmission despite underground obstacles. It connects to the mine’s LAN via a gateway, with an embedded dashboard accessible via IP address for real-time data viewing and configuration. The logger integrates with new or existing SMI Sag Flag instruments in seconds, using the Sag Flag adapter for seamless upgrades from Bluetooth loggers—no instrument replacement needed. Nodes join the mesh network in under a minute for fast, scalable deployment. Poll readings on-demand or schedule via the dashboard, with data accessible locally or remotely. Export data as Excel or CSV for analysis. Simple, reliable, and compatible, it enhances mining safety and efficiency.
